Assistant Contracts Manager (Ground Investigation) – Lancashire

 

Our clients are a national Site Investigation Specialists, Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants with offices based throughout the UK. Following substantial growth, they are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Contracts Manager to be based out of their Lancashire office.

 

The role will involve managing and developing all contracting works in the North West region with a view to quickly taking over as the principal Contracts Manager within the next year. The position will suit and ambitious and commercially aware person who is looking for the opportunity of genuine progression within a well-established company.

 

You will be involved in the day-to-day organisation, co-ordination, supervision and undertaking of the company’s contracting workload. This includes liaising with and advising clients, design of investigations, tendering, contract documentation, organisation/supervision of subcontractors and technical staff, site works, production of lab testing schedules, etc.

 

Requirements:

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology or related subjects

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the ground investigation industry

- Fully conversant with BS5930/Eurocode7

- Competent at supervising drilling crews on site, trial pitting, logging soils, rock strata, installation and monitoring of gas/groundwater, in-situ testing (CBRs, plate bearing tests, soakaways, percolation tests, etc.), contaminated land, waste classification, etc.

- Considerable experience of geotechnical report writing and design including foundations, piling, slope stability, mining, retaining wall and earthworks assessment, analysis and design to understand the requirements needed to design the Ground Investigation

- Experience of environmental issues including Phase 1 Desk Studies. Phase 2 Ground Investigations, Remediation Strategies and Verification of Contaminated Land

- Full UK driving licence

 

Package:

- £27,000 - £32,000 salary
