Negotiable depending on experience, in the region of £40-55k basic plus bonus

You will ideally be chartered with experience managing a team with the confidence to bring in new business via contacts and networking. 

Summary:

  • Building Surveyor conducting own jobs/services to meet objectives in throughput and performance set and signing off reports/work to personal sign off level and scrutinising reports/work above that level prior to their higher level sign off.
  • To be pro-active in the progression of work and to service individual and project instructions to the required standard in a timely manner. 
  • To continually review performance against targeted performance with a view to achieving production at a level close to or at capacity.
  • To always strive to secure the best possible work for the team and to deliver to professional standards.
  • To deliver work and actions to the targets you are provided with and as amended from time to time.
  • That the practice is promoted and that targets for acquiring new client are met.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a building surveying service to the required objectives on quantum and service
  • Client relationships
  • Team support, training and performance evaluation
  • RICS professional standards and ensure practices are maintained
  • Progress your learning and development goals in a timely manner
  • Client needs, expectations and concerns are clearly identified by effective questioning
  • Accurate and appropriately priced quotes are provided to clients within the required timescales to meet the target number
  • Building defects are accurately diagnosed and that trails are thoroughly investigated
  • Thorough and accurate surveys are conducted on site to the required standard and within required timescales.
  • Informing clients of progress at each key stage to the required standard
  • Ensuring reports are coherent, credible and have a logical flow
  • Expert Witness Reports are prepared to the required forensic standards within required timescales
  • Ensure all projects are designed and specified to meet client requirements, planning laws and agreed timescales
  • Ensure detailed and accurate planning drawings are produced to building control standards
  • Ensure the Plan Register is kept up to date
  • Making sure the tendering process is effectively managed and analysed within agreed timescales
  • Contract Administration and Management 
  • Drawings, Specifications and Reports are Peer Reviewed and corrected
  • Invoice management and making sure billing targets are met
  • Complaint Management
  • That there is regular and consistent activity to develop new business by liaising with the Marketing & Business Development Manager.
  • Attending networking events are attended to identify prospective clients and build relationships.
