We have recently partnered with a Consultancy who are recruiting for a number of Surveyors to support Loss Adjusters across a mixed portfolio of commercial, major and complex material damage, liability and business interruption claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • To handle a mixed portfolio of specialist building claims and provide technical support to Adjusters.
  • To provide technical advice and guidance on commercial building losses (Material Damage, Liability and Complex & Major Loss).
  • Undertaking initial investigation, and projecting building re-instatement costs to enable reserves to be set.
  • Provide technical reports to adjusters on building defects and policy cover.
  • Manage own portfolio of specialist claims including subsidence and building warranty work.
  • Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communication.
  • Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing specialist aspects of reports or final reports

About you

  • Educated to degree level, ideally BSc Hons in Building Surveying
  • Preferably MRICS or MCIOB level but extensive experience in the field will be considered
  • Strong surveying experience gained through working in the insurance / loss adjusting sector
  • Experience of working for a variety of insurance and / or loss adjusting practices in similar technical roles.
  • Experience of handling a variety of subsidence, fire, flood, impact damage and other large building claims
  • Ability to demonstrate an attention to detail and proactively analyse and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work as an individual and lead a team of professionals
  • Handle and co-ordinate complaints and compliments
  • Achievement of own performance targets
  • Competent use of technology
