I am partnered with a niche Building Consultancy who are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join their Manchester office. You will be lucky enough to be working on a variety of interesting projects some of which are in the pipeline now and will be openly discussed at interview. 

You will be joining a small team with big ambitions. The team are currently managing over £500m of projects nationwide in a variety of sectors including mixed use, assisted living, health, residential and commercial.  

The ideal candidate will be experienced as a Building Surveyor, confident at Project Management, ideally MRICS / CIOB qualified or in the process of sitting the APC. You must be able to work confidently on projects on your own.
 
You will needs to have a drive to succeed and an ability to appeal to a varied client base. You will need to be able to demonstrate a successful track record in both professional and project-based work.  You will assist senior members of staff, but mainly be expected to work on your own initiative to ensure the delivery of projects on time, to budget and of high quality.

Your experience should include:

  • Active involvement in the procurement, design and delivery of new build and refurbishment projects including mixed use, industrial, residential and commercial schemes
  • Advising clients on programme, cost and procurement implications of projects for both public and private sector clients
  • Used to client facing meetings in which professional advice is provided
  • Experience of procuring and managing multi-disciplinary consultant teams
  • Good understanding of the project delivery process from inception to completion
  • Good working understanding of building technology, compliance/Building Regulations and defect diagnosis
  • Used to working autonomously as well as part of a team with a hands-on approach
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office suite and programming software (MS Project or similar)
