Chartered Structural Engineer - Reading
A well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy who are currently looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to join their growing Engineering team based out of their Reading office.
This is a busy and varied role providing engineering design and consultancy services on a wide range of building structures' projects, primarily residential and commercial buildings in all forms of construction.
The Role:
- Responsible for managing projects and supporting Directors to achieve their objectives
- Undertaking of technical and feasibility studies including organising site investigations
- Use a range of software to develop detailed structural designs
- Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including contractors and architects
- Preparation of contract documents and management of tenders
- Resolving design and development problems
- Management of budget and project resources
- Assessment of sustainability and environmental impact of projects
- Assisting director with training and development of the engineering team
- Inspection / Supervision of construction work on site under contract, preparation of interim and final accounts, claim and practical completion.
Requirements:
- Degree in Structural Engineering
- MICE/MIStructE Chartership
- Experience managing projects within the residential and commercial sectors
- Experience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures
- Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles
- Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
