Civil Engineer – Essex
Our clients are a multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying consultancy with multiple offices throughout the UK. As they continue to expand, they are now looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join their Essex office.
This is a client-facing role delivering a range of projects (residential, education, healthcare, heritage) and procurement methods.
Responsibilities:
• Manage, design, develop and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects
• Assess the impact and feasibility of site due diligence, preliminary layout and up to the final engineering design.
• Study and assess drawings, plans, specifications and other documents relating to construction projects.
• Determine budget, project schedules and scope of work and deploy appropriate staff.
• Manage deliverables on time and within the budget.
• Lead and direct onsite construction teams.
• Collaborate and interact with construction teams, architects and outside project developers and consultants.
• Initiate and ensure standard civil engineering discipline in drawings and plans.
• Duties under H&S/CDM.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience within Civil Engineering
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages including CAD, Civil3D and Microdrainage.
- FRA experience.
- Competent with S278/S38 highway design.
- Experience in private and adoptable drainage design.
- Experience of earthworks and external level designs including 3D analysis.
- Experience in team and line management.
- Experience of coaching and mentoring junior engineers
