Civil Engineer – Manchester

Our clients are an award winning, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices based throughout the UK.  Due to ongoing success, they are currently looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join their Manchester office.

They are ideally looking for a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a consultancy environment including experience leading an delivering drainage projects.

 

The Role:

  • Prepare designs with little supervision of a Senior Engineer.
  • Support Senior Engineers in carrying out the project design from commencement to completion.
  • Produce designs for feasibility, costing and construction purposes, highways & drainage, street works, public realm, SUDS, building drainage, utilities coordination/diversion will all feature as services required by clients.
  • Undertake production and approval of single and multi-discipline fee proposals
  • Undertake assessment of variations and appraisal of fee cost or timescale impacts and agreement with clients
  • Manage engineering teams to ensure utilisation and recovery targets are achieved.
  • Offer leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Have financial control of projects when acting as a project manager.
  • Communicate with team members, clients, and other construction professionals.
  • Represent the company at design team meetings.
  • Work towards your chartership with the support of your mentor and colleagues.
  • Keep up to date with the CPD requirements within the ICE.
  • Carry out thorough site investigations, complete inspections, identify issues and solve problems.

 

Requirements:

- BEng from an ICE approved Civil Engineering course (or similar)

- Working towards Chartership with ICE

- Minimum of 3 years’ consultancy experience

- Experience leading and delivering drainage projects

- Proficient in AutoCAD, PDS Site Developer / Civil 3D, XP Solutions Suite, MicroDrainage, MS Project or similar, TEDDS and any other industry recognised software

- Excellent communication and client-facing skills

- Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers

- £30,000 - £40,000
