Our client is a leading Water Hygiene and Legionella Compliance company providing specialist cleaning, chlorination and disinfection services to commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and public sector clients. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Clean & Disinfection Engineer to join their expanding team covering South / West London along with Surrey / Berkshire 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in water hygiene, chlorination and disinfection looking to join a growing business with excellent long-term career prospects.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of cleaning and disinfection works on domestic hot and cold water systems, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with ACOP L8, HSG274 and current industry guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and chlorination of domestic hot and cold water systems
  • Cleaning and disinfection of cold water storage tanks
  • Mains water chlorination and disinfection
  • Chlorination of new and modified water systems
  • Calorifier cleaning and disinfection
  • Tank inspections and condition surveys
  • System flushing and disinfection following remedial works
  • Water sampling and temperature monitoring where required
  • Completion of detailed service reports and compliance documentation
  • Liaising with clients and providing recommendations where necessary
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with Health & Safety procedures
  • Maintaining company equipment, vehicles and testing equipment

Requirements

  • Previous experience carrying out chlorination and disinfection works
  • Experience cleaning domestic hot and cold water systems
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance
  • Experience working on commercial and industrial water systems
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • City & Guilds or relevant Water Hygiene qualifications
  • Water Hygiene monitoring experience
  • Tank inspection experience
  • Confined Space qualification
  • First Aid qualification
