Our client is a leading independent Water Treatment Company that is now recruiting for a Closed System Technical Manager in the South.


Main Duties:

  • Oversee Operational Delivery of Water Treatment work-flows nationwide from sample analysis to completion of remedial works
  • Review existing resource and where needed recruit and build an additional team to deliver Water Treatment services to the client base.
  • Complete Field Service visits for clients. Carry out monthly steam boiler analysis, closed system sample analysis and cooling tower visits in line with company processes.
  • Provide recommendations to account managers / clients for samples and requests received via email address
  • Work with Technical Consultants to Assist Account Managers by designing relevant water treatment programmes to provide best solutions to clients.
  • Raise quotations for internal (account managers) and external clients.
  • Manage workflows of the department for in-house sample analysis of LTHW and Chilled systems, as well as other industrial type systems, lab sampling and remedial works to ensure they are delivered within KPIs.
  • Deliver WTT011 Closed System Training courses.
  • Carry out follow up training for WTT011 graduates to support knowledge and understanding of the operational teams.
  • Survey remedial works and set up project plans for delivery including resourcing of projects
  • Complete discharge consent applications for remedial projects.
  • Raise tasks and manage projects through internal IT system
  • Manage chemical orders / stock with the Procurement department ensuring relevant materials and consumables are available for upcoming workflows.
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings.
  • Grow department with organic growth (assisting account managers and current clients).
  • Identify new growth opportunities within the industry and grow client base.
  • Obtain and Maintain CSCA membership with company Compliance Teams.
  • Innovate with new technology to deliver appropriate and best fix solutions to clients.
  • Lead internal monthly meetings (frequency may vary) with Technical Director, Commercial Director and relevant operational staff to review workflows, performance and opportunities.
  • Provide technical consultancy to internal (account managers) and external stakeholders.
  • Build revenue to £500k turnover target for 2024/2025 financial year and ensure continued growth of the department - revenue targets may vary depending on external factors..



  • Customer relations experience preferred within a similar role
  • At least 5 years experience in the water treatment industry
  • An understanding of the sales cycle
  • Management / Leadership experience preferential
  • 2 years experience running teams




  • Science or Engineering based degree ideally Chemistry related
  • Technical knowledge of the Water Treatment Industry, specifically with Industrial treatment knowledge and experience i.e. cooling towers, closed systems and steam boilers
  • Technical Water Treatment Qualifications
  • Full clean driving license




Basic Salary £40K - £50K
