Geotechnical Engineer – Cambridge
Our clients are a multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying consultancy with multiple offices throughout the UK. As they continue to expand, they are now looking to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Cambridge office.
You will be responsible for delivering projects from inception to completion whilst mentoring, managing and developing graduate engineers.
Responsibilities to include:
- Design and organisation of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
- Deliver technical interpretive reports assisting clients and structural/civil engineers on foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and contamination issues
- Desk studies and development of remediation proposals
- Checking logs and schedule testing
- Preparing fee quotations
- Ability to demonstrate experience of project managing all aspects of site investigation projects and begin to manage junior staff
- Begin to assist with marketing and business development
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or similar subject
- MEng or Masters in a Geotechnics or Environmental based course is desirable
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Geotechnical Engineer role
- Strong commercial awareness
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Be dedicated to the delivery of projects and the development of the team and business as a whole
- Be planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence
