We are recruiting for an experienced Lead Pre-Commission Cleaning Engineer to join a growing Water Treatment business.
The successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering pre-commission cleaning projects across commercial and industrial sites throughout the UK, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and undertake pre-commission cleaning of HVAC systems, boilers, closed water systems and associated pipework.
- Carry out chemical cleaning, flushing and treatment works in accordance with relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Select and utilise appropriate chemicals, cleaning methodologies and specialist equipment to remove debris, contaminants and installation residues.
- Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring projects are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to assistants and other engineers.
- Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and project teams to coordinate works and ensure project requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate site records, cleaning documentation and project reports.
- Provide daily progress updates, highlighting any technical issues, delays or additional requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical problems encountered during cleaning and flushing operations.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure all completed works meet client expectations.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry guidance, cleaning techniques and technologies.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in pre-commission cleaning of HVAC systems, boilers, closed water systems and associated pipework.
- Strong technical understanding of chemical cleaning, flushing procedures and water treatment processes.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and guidance relating to pre-commission cleaning.
- Valid SSSTS and CSCS qualifications.
- Previous experience supervising engineers or leading site-based projects.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and coordinate cleaning activities.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project requirements.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites throughout the UK.
- Physically capable of undertaking site-based engineering duties, including handling equipment where required.
Salary & Opportunities
- Basic salary of £45,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
