Our client, a leading specialist in Air & Water Consultancy, is seeking a skilled Legionella Risk Assessor to join their team in the South of England. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about water safety and regulatory compliance, offering the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of domestic and commercial properties.

Role Overview

As a Legionella Risk Assessor, you’ll be responsible for inspecting and evaluating water systems to identify potential risks associated with Legionella bacteria. You’ll conduct site surveys, assess compliance with UK regulations (including ACOP L8 and HSG274), and produce comprehensive risk assessment reports with actionable recommendations. You’ll also collaborate closely with the Business Manager to ensure all compliance measures align with LCA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Legionella risk assessments on a variety of water systems in residential and commercial settings
  • Inspect hot and cold-water systems and associated infrastructure
  • Identify potential Legionella sources and recommend control strategies in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274
  • Create detailed risk assessment reports and schematic diagrams
  • Advise clients on remedial actions, monitoring protocols, and regulatory compliance
  • Liaise with clients and water hygiene engineers to support the implementation of control measures

Skills & Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of UK water safety legislation (ACOP L8, HSG274, Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in water hygiene or water treatment
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong report-writing capabilities
  • Full UK driving licence (must be 21+ years old)
  • Legionella Risk Assessment training or certification preferred; demonstrable competency required
