Our client is a specialist Water Treatment Company with over 25 years of industry expertise. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Plumber / Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team in the South East.
Purpose of the Role
To support the delivery of water management, plumbing, and Legionella control services, ensuring full compliance with current legislation and industry standards for both the company and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the effective delivery and management of a wide range of water hygiene and remedial services, including:
Technical & Compliance
- Providing technical guidance to colleagues and site operatives on water hygiene and Legionella legislation
- Delivering Health & Safety advice and internal training
- Providing Legionella awareness training to clients
- Ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, HSG 274 (Parts 1–3), and Legionella Control Association requirements
Operational Duties
- Undertaking clean and chlorination works on domestic water systems and cooling towers
- Managing and supervising heating and chilled water closed‑system sampling and analysis
- Carrying out plumbing works and small remedial tasks
- Implementing effective control and management regimes for water services
- Producing accurate reports and maintaining site records
- Populating and programming building water hygiene records
Client & Project Management
- Visiting corporate accounts and maintaining strong client relationships
- Specifying and project‑managing remedial works
- Preparing quotations and tenders for small works
- Coordinating in‑house and contractor activities alongside other site operations
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong IT skills, including Word and Excel
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of Legionella control, water quality legislation, and environmental regulations
- In‑depth understanding of ACOP L8 and LCA membership requirements
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Proven experience working with corporate clients
- Ability to prioritise workload, work independently, and meet agreed timescales
- Willingness to work away from home during the week
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing (or equivalent)
- CSCS card (or equivalent)
- Confined space training
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong client‑facing skills and relationship‑building ability

- £30,000–£35,000 basic salary
