Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Plumber / Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team covering Tyne & Wear and surrounding areas.
This is a field-based role combining remedial plumbing works with water hygiene compliance services, working across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial, and public sector sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general plumbing repairs and installations
- Perform dead leg removals and pipework modifications
- Install, service, and replace TMVs (Thermostatic Mixing Valves)
- Undertake tank and water heater replacements
- Carry out system upgrades in line with compliance standards
- Conduct temperature monitoring in line with ACOP L8
- Carry out water sampling across site systems
- Perform tank inspections, cleaning, and disinfection
- Complete showerhead descaling and servicing
- Assist with general Legionella compliance tasks
- Ensure all works comply with:
- ACOP L8
- HSG274 guidelines
- Complete accurate service reports using digital systems
Experience Required
- Proven experience in plumbing and/or water hygiene
- NVQ / City & Guilds in Plumbing (or equivalent)
- Experience with:
- TMV servicing
- Dead leg removal
- Water system maintenance
- Understanding of Legionella control (ACOP L8)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence
