Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Essex
Our clients are a multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying consultancy with multiple offices throughout the UK. As they continue to expand, they are now looking to recruit a Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join their office in Essex.
You will be responsible for the procurement of building and engineering projects from initial estimates through to final accounts whilst seeking to minimise costs and enhance value for money.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day administration of major construction projects
- Assist in establishing a client’s requirements/brief and undertake feasibility studies
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities where required
- Undertake cost analysis
- Perform risk assessments, value management processes and cost control procedures
- Advise on a procurement strategy
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
- Allocate work to subcontractors
- Provide advice on contractual claims
- Value completed work and arrange payments
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying background at a senior level within a consultancy environment
- MRICS qualified is preferred
- Project Management/Employer’s Agent experience is essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (minimum 2:1 classification)
- In depth knowledge of the construction industry
- Budgeting experience
- Excellent numerical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisation and planning skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
In Return:
- £50,000 - £70,000 salary DOE
