Project Structural Engineer – London

We’re working with a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy providing structural, civil, geotechnical, environmental and transportation engineering design services, throughout the UK and overseas. As they continue to expand, they are looking to recruit a Project Structural Engineer to join their London office.

 

The Role:

They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their Structures team working on a variety of engineering projects and reporting to a Senior Engineer. Responsibilities will include:

- The design of building structures in steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber; produce design calculations and assist in and review the preparation of construction drawings.

- Assist in the risk assessment of design in accordance with CDM Regulations, and the production of project specifications and method statements.

- Assuming responsibility for the design of elements of medium and large projects reporting to a Senor Engineer or Associate.

- Agree with the Associate and work to such timescales agreed for the production of design information.

- Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections of structural works and existing buildings; prepare reports or sections thereof.

- Managing document issue processes, Site Visit requirements and recording of information.

- Ensure timesheets and expenses are updated within Rapport on a minimum weekly basis.

 

Requirements:

- MEng (or equivalent) Civil or Structural Engineering Degree

- Chartered or working towards Chartered status

- Circa 3-5 years’ experience

- Should possess a good working knowledge of relevant currant codes of practice, regulations and industry guidance

- Conversant with relevant software

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong attention to detail

- A commercial and client focused approach

- Ability to take design responsibility for projects

 

In Return:

- £32,000 - £42,000 salary DOE
