Our client is a well-established Water Hygiene and Legionella Compliance company providing specialist compliance services across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and public sector sites throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Remedial Plumber / Legionella Risk Assessor to join their expanding team.
This is a varied hybrid role combining Legionella Risk Assessments with Legionella remedial plumbing works, making it an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys both surveying and hands-on remedial work.
The Role
- Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274 and BS 8580 guidance
- Produce detailed risk assessment reports and provide practical remedial recommendations
- Carry out remedial plumbing works identified during Legionella Risk Assessments
- Remove dead legs and redundant pipework
- Install, replace and service Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
- Install and replace pipework, valves and associated plumbing components
- Carry out Cold Water Storage Tank inspections and associated remedial works
- Complete tank cleaning and chlorination works where required
- Undertake calorifier inspections and remedial works
- Carry out water sampling and temperature monitoring where required
- Liaise directly with clients regarding compliance issues and remedial solutions
- Produce accurate electronic reports and completion certificates
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Water Regulations and Health & Safety legislation
Coverage Area
The role is primarily based across the North West, covering:
- Lancashire
- Manchester
- Liverpool
- Cheshire
There will also be occasional work throughout the North East, including Newcastle, with infrequent travel into the Central Belt of Scotland when required.
Engineers typically stay away from home 4–5 nights per month, depending on workload and contract requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments
- Proven remedial plumbing experience within the Water Hygiene industry
- Strong knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274 and Water Regulations
- Experience carrying out TMV installations, servicing and replacements
- Experience removing dead legs and completing remedial pipework alterations
- Good understanding of domestic hot and cold-water systems
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK Driving Licence
