Senior / Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer - Glasgow

Our clients are a well-established Geotechnical & Geo-Environmental Engineering consultancy providing a broad range of design and construction management services to clients across a wide range of market sectors. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced and commercially aware Senior / Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their Glasgow office.

The Senior / Principal Engineer will be required to assist in expanding and developing the companies geo-environmental engineering services in Scotland. They are looking for someone with an aptitude in business development, a high level of ability in project management, report writing and design experience in construction and land reclamation.


The Role:

This position will entail a significant managerial role within the Company and, as such, the candidate will be response for the following:

• Planning, budgeting and financial management at project and company level.

• Preparation of proposals and consortium bids.

• Undertaking a managerial role to expand, develop and sustain the budgetary, technical output and performance of the geotechnical and geo-environmental services, with experience and knowledge of the Scottish market.

• Client management and progressing marketing initiatives within Scotland.

• Quality management and approving the technical output of projects and initiating procedures to monitor and ensure that the technical and professional standard of output meets with current guidance and regulations.

• Team leadership, staff training, management and development.

• Acting as a technical expert both to clients and regulators.


- BSc and MSc or PhD in either Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering

- Must be Chartered

- 5 to 15 years’ experience within the Geo-Environmental industry

- Strong business development skills

- Excellent design, coordination and reporting skills on geotechnical / environmental investigations

- Experienced in Contract Management of site investigations, ground engineering, earthworks and land reclamation

- Ability to direct and check detailed geotechnical and environmental design calculations and assessments

- Full UK Driving Licence
