Senior Civil Engineer – Birmingham
Our clients are an award winning, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices based throughout the UK. Due to ongoing success, they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Civil Engineer to join their Birmingham office.
They are ideally looking for someone either Chartered or working towards Chartered status to work on a variety of projects assisting the team in the design of Drainage, Roads and associated Civil Engineering works. Most of the projects will be in Birmingham and the West Midlands and typically involve challenging brownfield sites being developed for development in a wide range of sectors.
The role will be based out of their London office providing services from project inception through to completion on site. You will be expected to lead the civil engineering elements supporting the Project Engineer and where required attend client design team meetings and site visits. The work will include the preparation of Drainage Strategies, SuDs Assessments for planning applications and hands-on approach to the detailed design and production information for construction.
Requirements:
- MEng Civil Engineering degree from an ICE approved course
- Either recently Chartered or approaching Chartered status with the ICE
- Minimum of 5 years’ Civil Engineering experience within a consultancy environment
- Skilled producer of design for all Civil Engineering services required by clients
- Conversant with AutoCAD, PDS Site Developer / Civils 3D, XP Solutions suite, MicroDrainage, MS Project or similar, TEDDS and other industry recognised software
- Applied approach to time management, be able to deliver multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
- Sound understanding of the building process, procurement, design management and control and interaction with other stakeholders in the construction process
- Involvement in identification and management of project risks and preparation of risk assessments
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Building and maintaining good rapport with clients
