Senior Structural Engineer – Birmingham

We are working with an international multi-disciplinary consultancy providing a wide variety of engineering and sustainability services. Due to an increased workload, they are now looking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Birmingham office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team working on the design of some of the most exciting and prestigious construction projects in the UK and internationally. They have a fantastic pipeline of work which includes projects from the Midlands, across the UK and around the world such.

As part of our established team of engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will lead a project team in delivering projects including the preparation of detailed structural calculations, specifications and drawing packages. This will involve all structural materials and use of appropriate software.

You will work across a variety of sectors such as education, commercial, retail, industrial and residential, and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills continue to develop, and as you work and are supported beyond Chartership.

 

Requirements:

• Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status (IStructE or ICE)

• Educated to degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng or BEng)

• Strong practical experience of structural engineering within a consultancy environment and a competent level of relevant IT skills including structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Robot, Grasshopper, Tekla or TEDDS

• Proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials, including steel, reinforced concrete and masonry, and crucially - have a passion for creative, sustainable and intuitive design

• Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential

 

In Return:

• Circa £30,000 - £40,000 salary DOE
