Our client, an established and growing Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company, is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Water Hygiene Engineer to cover commercial and industrial contracts throughout London and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer looking to take the next step in their career, taking responsibility for more complex works while supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers.
The Role
- The successful candidate will carry out a varied range of Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance duties, including:
- Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
- Water sampling for Legionella and microbiological analysis
- TMV servicing, inspection and fail-safe testing
- Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
- Calorifier inspections
- Showerhead and hose cleaning, descaling and disinfection
- Flushing of little-used outlets
- Cold Water Storage Tank cleaning and disinfection
- Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection
- Water system chlorination and disinfection
- Cooling tower monitoring and sampling
- Identifying areas of non-compliance and recommending remedial works
- Carrying out more complex Water Hygiene works where required
- Completing accurate electronic service reports and site documentation
- Liaising directly with clients and site representatives
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274 and current industry guidance
- Supporting and mentoring junior Water Hygiene Engineers
- Leading small teams on cleaning, disinfection and project works
- Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard
- What We're Looking For
- Strong previous experience within the Water Hygiene / Legionella industry
- Experience working as a Water Hygiene Engineer, Senior Engineer or similar
- Good working knowledge of ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Experience carrying out temperature monitoring, sampling and TMV servicing
- Strong experience with tank cleaning and disinfection
- Cooling tower cleaning and monitoring experience would be highly advantageous
- Experience leading small teams or mentoring junior engineers would be beneficial
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- Good technical reporting and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and customer-facing ability
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK Driving Licence
