Structural Engineer – London
Our clients are a multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying consultancy with multiple offices throughout the UK. As they continue to expand, they are now looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to join their London office.
You will be responsible for undertaking and assisting with the design and delivery of structural engineering projects. Projects include new build, refurbishment and extensions within residential, commercial, health and educational projects.
Responsibilities to include:
- Preparing reports, designs, and drawings for building control submission
- Prepare structural calculations
- Selecting appropriate construction materials
- Providing technical advice
- Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
- Liaising and working with relevant professional staff such as architects, M&E engineers, clients, PMs
- Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
- Administering contracts
- Managing projects / resources
- Inspecting buildings to check structural condition and foundations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an engineering design office environment
- Proficient with AutoCAD/REVIT (preferable but not essential)
- Decisive with excellent critical thinking skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
In Return:
- £28,000 - £35,000 DOE
