Our client provides high quality validation/verification testing of medical facilities to ensure compliance with HTM’s – as independent specialists it gives objective assessments and supports customers with improvement plans to keep patients and staff safe.

They are recruiting for a Ventilation / Commissioning engineer with the necessary qualifications and a willingness to be further trained to carry out verifications in hospitals on their Critical Care systems.  The work is carried out in and out of normal working hours including weekends and includes staying away most weeks, so a flexible approach is essential.

The job requires excellent attention to detail and an enthusiastic approach. The work is within healthcare environments so all recommended practises required by the NHS will be adhered to for the safety of staff and customers.

If you have previous experience in positions as a Verification / commissioning engineer this could be the ideal role for you.

Knowledge Skills and Experience


  • 5 GCSE A-C inc. Maths
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative where required
  • O365 skills (SharePoint, Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Articulate and competent communicator, able to empathise with clients to achieve positive outcomes
  • To follow and always promote Health and Safety standards and good practice
  • A Driving licence – clean preferrable
  • At least 3 years’ experience within the Industry
  • Grades 1,2 and 3 Commissioning Specialist Association certification
  • Working knowledge of CIBSE and BSRIA Air and Water codes
  • Clear DBS check
  • Suitable references


  • Knowledge of HTM03-01 (Health Technical Memoranda)
  • Knowledge of HBN’s (Health Building Notes)
  • Knowledge of the healthcare Environment

The Role

To travel to site to carry out HVAC commissioning, balancing of air and water systems, annual verifications and Validations to HTM03-01 within hospitals located around the UK and this will involve staying away in hotels.

Perform site visits for testing, remedial works and servicing of Critical care system to prevalent standards

You will need to submit accurate reports as each job dictates in a timely manner

To liaise with site management and / or clients to achieve successful outcomes

To ensure compliance with prevailing regulatory and standard bodies including maintaining any accreditation held by the company
