Our client is a well-established Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company providing specialist Legionella compliance and remedial plumbing services to commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector clients.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber to join their team, covering Gloucestershire and the surrounding region.

This is a varied role combining Water Hygiene compliance duties with remedial plumbing works, offering an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across a wide range of commercial water systems.

The Role

  • Carry out routine Water Hygiene monitoring in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidance
  • Complete hot and cold water temperature monitoring
  • Collect water samples for Legionella and microbiological analysis
  • Carry out showerhead cleaning, descaling, and disinfection
  • Inspect, service, and replace Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
  • Complete Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
  • Carry out cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks
  • Undertake flushing of little-used outlets
  • Carry out calorifier inspections and temperature profiling
  • Complete remedial plumbing works identified during routine inspections and risk assessments
  • Remove dead legs and redundant pipework
  • Install and modify copper and plastic pipework
  • Replace valves, flexible hoses, taps, and associated plumbing components
  • Carry out minor bathroom and plant room plumbing alterations
  • Produce accurate electronic service reports and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships while delivering a high standard of service

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Water Hygiene Engineer, Remedial Plumber, or multi-skilled Water Hygiene / Plumbing Engineer
  • Good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidance
  • Experience carrying out Water Hygiene monitoring and remedial plumbing works
  • Competent servicing and replacing TMVs
  • Experience removing dead legs and carrying out pipework alterations
  • Good knowledge of domestic hot and cold-water systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification
  • Experience carrying out tank cleans and chlorination works
  • Water Regulations knowledge
  • Basic Water Treatment knowledge including dosing equipment or closed systems
