Our client, an established specialist within the Water Treatment and Pre-Commissioning industry, is looking to recruit a Water Hygiene / Trainee Pre-Commissioning Engineer to work on commercial projects throughout London and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer who is looking to develop their career and move into Pre-Commissioning and system flushing.
Full training and support will be provided in Pre-Commissioning works, making this an ideal progression opportunity for someone with a solid Water Hygiene background and a desire to develop additional technical skills.
The Role
Initially, the position will involve a mixture of Water Hygiene duties alongside training and development in Pre-Commissioning, including:
- Water sampling and temperature monitoring
- Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
- Cleaning and chlorination of water systems
- Flushing of domestic water systems
- Water system disinfection works
- Working in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Assisting experienced Pre-Commissioning Engineers on commercial projects
- Pre-Commission cleaning and flushing of heating and chilled water systems
- Dynamic flushing of pipework systems
- Chemical cleaning and treatment
- System dosing and inhibitor testing
- Water sampling and analysis
- Monitoring system water quality during flushing works
- Working with pumps, hoses and specialist flushing equipment
- Completing site paperwork and electronic reports
- Liaising with site managers, M&E contractors and commissioning teams
As your experience develops, you will take on greater responsibility for Pre-Commissioning projects and progress towards working independently as a Pre-Commissioning Engineer.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within the Water Hygiene / Water Treatment industry
- Practical knowledge of domestic water systems
- Understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Experience with sampling, flushing, chlorination and disinfection works
- An interest in developing a career within Pre-Commissioning
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technical skills
- Comfortable working on construction and commercial sites
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working hours when projects require it
- Full UK Driving Licence
Previous Pre-Commissioning experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided.
