Our client is a well-established Water Hygiene and Water Treatment company delivering specialist compliance services to clients across the healthcare, commercial, education, and public sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene / Water Services Technician to join their team, covering London, the South East, and surrounding areas.

This role is ideally suited to an engineer with experience working within healthcare environments, although experienced Water Hygiene Engineers from other commercial sectors will also be considered.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of Water Hygiene compliance services, with a particular focus on healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine Water Hygiene monitoring in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and HTM 04-01 guidance
  • Conduct hot and cold water temperature monitoring
  • Collect water samples for Legionella and microbiological analysis
  • Inspect, service, and test Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
  • Complete showerhead cleaning, descaling, and disinfection
  • Undertake flushing of little-used outlets
  • Carry out Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
  • Complete cleaning and disinfection of domestic water systems
  • Conduct calorifier inspections and temperature profiling
  • Maintain accurate electronic service reports and compliance documentation
  • Identify system defects and recommend remedial works where appropriate
  • Liaise with site staff and clients to ensure the highest levels of customer service and compliance
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Water Hygiene Engineer or Water Services Technician
  • Healthcare (HTM 04-01) experience is highly desirable
  • Engineers with strong commercial Water Hygiene experience will also be considered
  • Good understanding of ACoP L8, HSG274, and ideally HTM 04-01
  • Experience carrying out Water Hygiene monitoring and compliance tasks
  • Competent in TMV servicing and routine Water Hygiene duties
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Location

Ideally based in the South or South East of England, with good access into London, covering healthcare and commercial client sites throughout the region.
