Role Overview
The Water Hygiene Engineer will carry out a full range of water hygiene and compliance tasks across client sites, ensuring systems meet current legislation and industry best practice. The role involves both routine monitoring and remedial work, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting temperature monitoring, water sampling, and inspection of hot and cold water systems
- Completing TMV servicing, showerhead disinfection, and tank inspections
- Carrying out clean and disinfection of water systems, including cold water storage tanks
- Supporting Legionella control programmes in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274
- Producing clear, accurate site reports and compliance documentation
- Identifying non‑conformances and advising clients on corrective actions
- Working safely and professionally on customer premises, representing Primary Water to a high standard
Experience & Skills Required
- Previous experience in a Water Hygiene Engineer or Water Monitoring Technician role
- Strong understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274, and water hygiene compliance tasks
- Competent in temperature monitoring, sampling, TMV servicing, and basic remedial work
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work
