Our client is a growing compliance and water hygiene specialist, delivering high-quality Legionella control services across a range of sectors. They are part of a wider environmental services group, providing strong support, investment, and long-term career development opportunities.
They are now looking to recruit a Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team ideally based in Reading (Berkshire) . This role is key in ensuring client water systems remain compliant with Legionella regulations, while delivering high standards of service and reporting.
Main Duties:
- Carry out PPM water hygiene tasks in line with compliance standards
- Install, service, and maintain thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs)
- Perform tank cleaning and disinfection
- Carry out showerhead cleaning and descaling
- Conduct calorifier inspections and expansion vessel flushing
- Undertake water sampling and testing (including chlorine dioxide where applicable)
- Provide technical insight into system performance and condition
- Identify and recommend remedial actions
- Interpret and implement Legionella Risk Assessment recommendations
- Escalate system defects and high-risk findings
Experience Required:
- 1–2 years’ experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or related field
- Experience with:
- Monitoring tasks and disinfection works
- TMVs, calorifiers, expansion vessels, and water systems
- Strong understanding of Legionella compliance and regulations
- Fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of water softeners and chlorine dioxide systems (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
