Our client is a growing compliance and water hygiene specialist, delivering high-quality Legionella control services across a range of sectors. They are part of a wider environmental services group, providing strong support, investment, and long-term career development opportunities.

They are now looking to recruit a Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team ideally based in Reading (Berkshire) . This role is key in ensuring client water systems remain compliant with Legionella regulations, while delivering high standards of service and reporting.

 

Main Duties:

  • Carry out PPM water hygiene tasks in line with compliance standards
  • Install, service, and maintain thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs)
  • Perform tank cleaning and disinfection
  • Carry out showerhead cleaning and descaling
  • Conduct calorifier inspections and expansion vessel flushing
  • Undertake water sampling and testing (including chlorine dioxide where applicable)
  • Provide technical insight into system performance and condition
  • Identify and recommend remedial actions
  • Interpret and implement Legionella Risk Assessment recommendations
  • Escalate system defects and high-risk findings

 

Experience Required:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or related field
  • Experience with:
  • Monitoring tasks and disinfection works
  • TMVs, calorifiers, expansion vessels, and water systems
  • Strong understanding of Legionella compliance and regulations
  • Fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of water softeners and chlorine dioxide systems (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
