Our client is a well-established Water Hygiene and Water Treatment company providing Legionella compliance services to commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector clients throughout the South East.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team, covering Berkshire and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career within a growing and supportive business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine water hygiene monitoring in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidelines
  • Conduct temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems
  • Collect water samples for Legionella and microbiological analysis
  • Perform showerhead and hose descaling, cleaning, and disinfection
  • Inspect and maintain Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
  • Complete cold water storage tank inspections
  • Undertake flushing of little-used outlets
  • Carry out calorifier inspections and associated compliance checks
  • Complete chlorination and disinfection works where required
  • Accurately record site findings using electronic and paper-based reporting systems
  • Identify system deficiencies and report remedial recommendations
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with current health and safety legislation
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients on site

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Water Hygiene Engineer, Water Hygiene Technician, or similar role
  • Good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidance
  • Experience carrying out temperature monitoring, water sampling, and TMV servicing
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and report-writing ability
  • Full UK Driving Licence

 

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Water Hygiene or Legionella Control qualifications
  • Experience carrying out chlorination and tank cleaning works
  • Knowledge of closed system monitoring and sampling
  • Basic plumbing or remedial experience
