Our client is a well-established Water Hygiene and Legionella Compliance company that is continuing to expand its operations across the East Midlands. They are looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join their growing team, working across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and public sector sites.

 

The Role

As a Water Hygiene Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of Water Hygiene compliance duties in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidelines, ensuring clients remain compliant with current legislation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Water sampling and temperature monitoring
  • Flushing of little-used outlets
  • Showerhead and hose descales and disinfection
  • TMV inspections, servicing and replacements
  • Cold water storage tank inspections
  • Tank cleaning and chlorination works
  • Calorifier inspections
  • Water softener servicing
  • Closed system sampling (desirable)
  • Completing accurate electronic reports and compliance documentation
  • Advising clients on compliance issues and remedial recommendations
  • Working safely and professionally in accordance with company procedures
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service across a variety of client sites

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Water Hygiene Engineer
  • Good understanding of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance
  • Experience carrying out Water Hygiene monitoring duties
  • Experience servicing TMVs
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK Driving Licence

 

The following would be advantageous:

  • Tank cleaning and chlorination experience
  • Closed system sampling experience
  • Plumbing or remedial plumbing experience
  • Legionella Awareness training
