Our client is a well-established Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality compliance services throughout the South West.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Water Treatment / Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team, covering Devon and the surrounding region.

This is a varied role combining both Water Hygiene compliance and Water Treatment duties, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across a broad range of systems and client environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine water hygiene monitoring in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidance
  • Undertake hot and cold water temperature monitoring
  • Collect water samples for Legionella and microbiological analysis
  • Complete showerhead cleaning, descaling and disinfection
  • Inspect, service and test Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
  • Carry out cold water storage tank inspections
  • Complete cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks
  • Perform calorifier inspections and temperature profiling
  • Carry out flushing of little-used outlets
  • Undertake cooling tower monitoring and water treatment analysis
  • Complete closed system sampling and basic analytical testing
  • Carry out remedial dosing and chemical testing where required
  • Assist with pre-commission cleaning and flushing of new water systems
  • Install and service dosing equipment when required
  • Produce accurate electronic service reports and compliance documentation
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend remedial works
  • Maintain excellent client relationships while delivering a high standard of customer service

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Water Treatment Engineer, Water Hygiene Engineer or multi-skilled Water Treatment/Hygiene Engineer
  • Good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274
  • Experience carrying out both Water Hygiene and Water Treatment duties
  • Knowledge of cooling towers and closed systems would be advantageous
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK Driving Licence
