Our client is a well-established Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality compliance services throughout the Midlands.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Water Treatment / Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team, covering the West Midlands and the surrounding region.
This is a varied role combining both Water Hygiene compliance and Water Treatment duties, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across a broad range of systems and client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine water hygiene monitoring in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidance
- Undertake hot and cold water temperature monitoring
- Collect water samples for Legionella and microbiological analysis
- Complete showerhead cleaning, descaling and disinfection
- Inspect, service and test Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
- Carry out cold water storage tank inspections
- Complete cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks
- Perform calorifier inspections and temperature profiling
- Carry out flushing of little-used outlets
- Undertake cooling tower monitoring and water treatment analysis
- Complete closed system sampling and basic analytical testing
- Carry out remedial dosing and chemical testing where required
- Assist with pre-commission cleaning and flushing of new water systems
- Install and service dosing equipment when required
- Produce accurate electronic service reports and compliance documentation
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend remedial works
- Maintain excellent client relationships while delivering a high standard of customer service
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Water Treatment Engineer, Water Hygiene Engineer or multi-skilled Water Treatment/Hygiene Engineer
- Good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Experience carrying out both Water Hygiene and Water Treatment duties
- Knowledge of cooling towers and closed systems would be advantageous
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK Driving Licence
