Our client is a specialist Water Treatment Company that is looking to recruit a Water Treatment Area Sales Manager to cover a territory in the South East. Equipment includes Water Softeners, Reverse Osmosis systems, Demin Plants, Sand filters, Carbon filters, Iron and Manganese removal, Chemical Injection systems, Boiler feed systems and monitoring.

As Area Sales Manager you will be responsible for achievement of area and national sales targets by undertaking planned sales visits. To meet with engineers, contractors as well as national plumber merchants and local stockists and direct sales to process engineering etc.

To provide customer and sales support for the broader sales team. To design, quote and develop sales of the Company range of water treatment equipment & services into the UK market. To provide detailed and accurate information for the service division and assist in the day to day operations of the Commercial/Industrial Division.

Key Duties:

  • Develop direct and indirect sales by visiting targeted customers within specified regions and any specific projects as directed.
  • Visit customers and potential customers.
  • Ensure appointments and paperwork are up to date.
  • Develop a customer and prospect calling plan.
  • Gather market and competitor information
  • Maintain a comprehensive and updated list of targeted accounts that represent potential business for the group.
  • Ensure that the full range of the company’s products are developed into all potential customers in the region.
  • Organise work load into a call pattern based on potential business.
  • To design and quote for water treatment packages and services, including typing of letters and quotes.
  • To ensure all outstanding quotations are followed up and customer contacted and develop quotes into orders for processing liaising with Internal sales team.
  • Undertake customer credit checks before processing order.
  • Liaise with technical staff to ensure solution is acceptable.
  • Assume responsibility for area sales and statistics, including product and sales forecasting.
  • Monthly, quarterly and yearly forecasting and reports.
  • Achievement of targeted sales agreed within the budget year.
  • Achievement of targeted quotes agreed within the budget year.
  • Keep and regularly report, detailed records of presentations for all sales appointments and telephone conversations.
  • Report monthly and weekly progress in gaining market share in the area of Direct, Specification and Contractor ordering level based on the above statistics and set personal targets.

Ideally candidates will have a proven track record with field/sales experience. Any experience of selling in to the Housebuilding market would be an added bonus. Technical knowledge of water treatment sector. Must be competent in planning and developing sales strategies
