Our client, a leading provider of Industrial Water Treatment solutions, is looking to recruit a Water Treatment Engineer / Trainee Account Manager to cover clients throughout Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Water Treatment Engineer or Service Chemist who is looking to take the next step in their career and progress into a client-facing Account Management position.
The role will initially combine hands-on technical Water Treatment duties with customer management, before developing into greater responsibility for managing and growing an established portfolio of accounts.
The Role
- Carrying out routine Water Treatment servicing and analysis across customer sites
- Sampling and analysis of cooling towers, steam boilers and closed systems
- Monitoring chemical treatment programmes and making appropriate recommendations
- Chemical dosing and optimisation of Water Treatment programmes
- Reviewing system performance and identifying potential issues
- Producing technical service reports and recommendations
- Building strong relationships with existing customers
- Developing an understanding of customers' technical and commercial requirements
- Supporting the management and development of existing accounts
- Identifying opportunities for additional services and new business
- Preparing quotations and proposals
- Working closely with technical, operational and sales teams
- Progressing towards responsibility for your own portfolio of Water Treatment accounts
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within Industrial Water Treatment
- Experience with cooling towers, steam boilers and/or closed systems
- Water analysis and service chemistry experience
- Good understanding of chemical Water Treatment programmes
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Commercially aware with an interest in developing into Account Management
- Confident building relationships with customers
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload
- Chemistry, Science or relevant Water Treatment qualification would be advantageous
- Full UK Driving Licence
Previous Account Management experience isn't essential. The company is particularly interested in experienced Water Treatment Engineers or Service Chemists who have the technical knowledge and personality to develop into a commercial role.
