Our client is a well-established Water Treatment and Legionella Compliance company providing specialist water treatment services to clients across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Water Treatment Engineer to join their team covering the North East.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Water Treatment and Closed System services across healthcare, commercial, industrial, education, local authority and leisure sector sites. The role will involve a mixture of pre-commission cleaning, closed system analysis, chemical dosing, Legionella control and remedial water treatment activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Closed System Water Treatment
- Carry out closed system sampling and analytical testing
- Monitor pH, conductivity, inhibitor levels, glycol concentrations and microbiological activity
- Undertake corrosion monitoring and system analysis
- Carry out chemical dosing using inhibitors, biocides and dispersants
- Service and maintain dosing equipment and automated dosing pumps
- Complete pre-commission cleaning of new heating and chilled water systems
- Carry out remedial flushing, chemical cleaning and system disinfection
- Inspect and service filters, strainers, expansion vessels and dosing pots
- Diagnose faults and recommend corrective actions
- Produce detailed service reports and recommendations
- Ensure all work complies with BSRIA BG29, BG50 and relevant industry guidance
- Legionella Control
- Collect water samples for laboratory analysis
- Inspect water storage tanks, calorifiers and associated water systems
- Carry out system cleaning, flushing, descaling and disinfection
- Service water softeners, filtration equipment and chemical dosing systems
- Conduct remedial works in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance
- Advise clients on compliance and water safety improvements
- Respond to water quality issues and implement corrective actions where required
- Work in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures
- Comply with COSHH regulations when handling treatment chemicals
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE
- Complete all site documentation accurately and professionally
Requirements
- Minimum two years' experience within the Water Treatment industry
- Experience carrying out closed system analysis and chemical dosing
- Experience with pre-commission cleaning and system disinfection
- Knowledge of heating, chilled and domestic water systems
- Experience servicing water softeners, dosing equipment and filtration systems
- Good understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274, BSRIA BG29 and BG50 guidance
- Legionella Awareness training
- COSHH training
- Full UK Driving Licence

- First Aid, IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications
