Our client is an established Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene / Water Treatment Engineer.

This is a varied field-based position requiring a strong background across both Water Hygiene and Water Treatment, particularly closed system analysis, sampling, chemical dosing and remedial works.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years' industry experience and be comfortable working independently across a range of commercial and industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out closed system sampling, analytical testing and interpretation of results
  • Undertake closed system chemical dosing and remedial treatment
  • Carry out closed system inspections and condition assessments
  • Undertake Water Hygiene monitoring in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274
  • Carry out hot and cold water temperature monitoring
  • Take water samples for Legionella and microbiological analysis
  • Complete cold water storage tank inspections
  • Carry out cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks
  • Undertake building and domestic water system disinfections
  • Carry out TMV testing, servicing and maintenance
  • Complete showerhead cleaning, descaling and disinfection
  • Carry out calorifier pasteurisation
  • Undertake spa balance tank cleaning
  • Install, service and maintain chlorine dioxide dosing equipment
  • Carry out pre-commission cleaning and flushing of water systems
  • Identify system issues and recommend appropriate remedial works
  • Complete accurate service reports and compliance documentation
  • Liaise professionally with clients and site personnel
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the position and level of experience

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 6 years' experience within the Water Treatment / Water Hygiene industry
  • Strong experience of closed system water treatment
  • Good practical experience across Water Hygiene monitoring and compliance
  • Understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274
  • Experience with water sampling, temperature monitoring and system inspections
  • Experience with chemical dosing and remedial Water Treatment works
  • Ability to work independently on customer sites
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to complete technical reports and documentation accurately
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence

Desirable Experience

  • Water softener installation, servicing and fault finding
  • Experience with Clack, Fleck and Autotrol water softener systems
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant servicing and installation
  • Chlorine dioxide dosing equipment
