Our client is a leading specialist in water treatment and hygiene, supporting organisations in managing and minimising the risk of Legionnaires’ disease in line with current health and safety legislation. They service, treat, and maintain a full range of industrial water systems, including steam boilers, evaporative cooling systems, closed loop circuits, and wastewater applications.

Due to an upcoming retirement, the company is seeking an experienced Group Sales Manager to lead and develop its national sales function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development, account optimisation, and client retention to achieve individual and group sales targets.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to a team comprising Area Sales Managers, Account Managers, Contracts Managers, and Service Chemists.
  • Support customers directly when required (e.g., during staff absence), including on‑site analytical work on steam boilers, cooling towers, closed heating and chilled systems.
  • Manage a small portfolio of key accounts to maintain strong commercial relationships and ensure service excellence.
  • Monitor and manage P&L performance, ensuring expected profit margins are achieved.
  • Produce monthly summary reports for the Managing Director.
  • Contribute to the wider commercial strategy and support continuous improvement across the business.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years’ industrial water treatment experience.
  • Currently operating at Area Sales Manager level or above.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in P&L management.
  • Confident in both sales leadership and hands‑on technical support.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Willing to travel nationally, including Northern Ireland.

Location

This is a national role. While location is flexible, it is likely to suit candidates based from the Midlands down to the South East.

Package

  • Basic salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + commission/bonus
