Our client is a leading Water Treatment Company that is looking to recruit a Working Water Treatment Supervisor. The successful candidate will already be in a Supervisor role or a Senior Engineer looking to take their next career move to manage and work alongside an engineering team. Needs to be experienced in domestic tasks, cooling tower/condenser cleans and other water hygiene and treatment works and completing competency checks
Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Regional Service Manager, the role is responsible for supervising the work of employees within the relevant geographical area. The Supervisor has responsibility for driving the productivity and productivity of their teams.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Staff Management & Development
Assist with the selection and recruitment of staff
Inducting new employees into the business
Supervises Water Hygiene employees who are working within the relevant geographical area
Compliance sign off of works produced by team
Participates in the timesheet approval process
To carry out performance and development reviews, identifying training needs
Carrying out training of employees as required
Responsible for productivity of the team
Delivers toolbox talks and business updates to employees
Conduct investigatory procedures as required
2. Communication
Communicate constructively and actively seek information.
Provides technical expertise, where necessary.
Liaise and work with relevant parties to ensure all work activity is planned, organised and carried out to the contract brief
Consult with other Supervisors and engineers, management, clients and other employees
Assist and maintain the quality systems in place
3. Safety
Promote and communicate standards/information to colleagues and team members.
Ensures team have appropriate equipment and PPE in place
Ensures own and colleagues’ safety at all times
Ensure that method statements and risk assessments are prepared and compliant
Conducts site audits – minimum 2 per month
Promote and communicate standards/information to colleagues and team members
Follows detail provided within method statements and work instructions when working on site
Assess each job for potential hazards to ensure complete safe working practices can be adhered
Wear protective items of clothing and use appropriate safety equipment for the job being undertaken when on site
Report any accident, incident, damage or near miss in line with company reporting procedures
4. Operational Optimisation
Recommend improvements to working practices.
Willingness to help; assist other team members as required.
Optimisation of employees’ efficiency
Responsible for driving productivity and profitability through the supervision of employees
Ensures contractual responsibilities are observed and adhered to
Review of the distribution of resources available to ensure service is efficient
5. Client Liaison
Provide information to customers, undertaking site visits when requied
Able to identify and realise commercial opportunities
Ensures that company image and standards are maintained
Dealing with client requests/complaints
Ensures that image and standards are maintained at all times
Assisting job costing and quotation for exception reports/as client required
Assist in handling complaints, where necessary
6. Site based working
Work away from time to time, this requirement shall be defined by the operational needs of the business
Undertake routine maintenance activities as instructed and in accordance with current standards when required
Undertake remedial works as instructed and in accordance with current standards when required
Ideally candidates will have a City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing and ideally Unvented, IOSH qualifications
