To support ambitious growth plans, the Water Equipment Sales Team is seeking an experienced and driven Technical Sales Manager. The organisation delivers a comprehensive range of water hygiene, water treatment, equipment, and consultancy services across the UK and internationally, and this role plays a key part in expanding its technical and commercial footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Client Development & Technical Consultation
- Identify and build relationships with prospective clients, assess technical requirements, and provide tailored water treatment solutions.
- Deliver expert consultation to ensure proposed systems meet client specifications and operational needs.
Strategic Client Engagement
- Develop and maintain a structured communication plan for both new and existing clients to support long-term relationship management.
Site Assessment & Opportunity Identification
- Conduct on-site evaluations to determine installation requirements and uncover additional commercial opportunities.
Equipment Selection & Specification
- Recommend appropriate water treatment systems—including reverse osmosis, base exchange, dosing, and filtration—based on technical and operational criteria.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, sales, and operations teams to develop competitive pricing strategies and achieve agreed profit margins.
Consultancy Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with the water consultancy division to identify joint opportunities and support integrated service delivery.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting
- Produce detailed sales forecasts, analytical reports, and management presentations to track performance against targets.
Performance Updates
- Provide structured weekly and monthly progress reports to the Commercial Director, highlighting key activities, achievements, and pipeline status.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Minimum five years’ experience in the water treatment sector.
- Strong technical understanding of base exchange systems, reverse osmosis, chemical dosing, and filtration technologies.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- High level of self-motivation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to shared objectives.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in water treatment equipment sales.
- Demonstrated success in technical solution selling within the water industry.
Travel Requirements
- Regular travel across the UK is expected.
- Willingness to work away from home during the week when required.
About the Water Consultancy & Equipment Teams
The Water Consultancy division provides statutory water hygiene compliance services, chemical and microbiological analysis, and management of systems such as cooling towers, domestic water systems, and closed heating/chilled circuits.
The Water Equipment Engineering team designs and manufactures equipment in-house, including reverse osmosis units, water softeners, and filtration systems, supported by CAD schematics and Revit models. The organisation operates to BIM Level 2 standards.
